I have wholeheartedly embraced Western North Carolina as home since 2021. After spending endless family vacations in the Blue Ridge Mtns for the last 15 yrs, I knew that is where I belonged. I first fell in love with the mtns when I discovered the Blue Ridge Parkway during a family road trip back in 2010. As the famous quote by  John Muir goes:  “ The mountains are calling and I must go.” I felt deeply that calling and finally made the move to NC, after living in Florida for 0ver 25 yrs. I was lucky enough to find a home in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Prior to joining Howard Hanna-Beverly Hanks, I had retired as a Holistic physician. I spent many years in Florida, helping people from different walks of life heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. My main goal was to help clients focus on the innate ability of the body to heal itself. My heart and passion have always been in the service and working with people. Life as a holistic practitioner and as a real estate agent, share a lot in common. The rewarding feeling of helping clients in their healing journey is similar to that of helping in their pursuit of homeownership. Real estate feels like the perfect industry to transition into so that I can continue to make a difference in people’s lives.

During my free time, you will find me exploring some hidden trails, hiking up to some waterfalls along the parkway with my rescue dogs Massey and Dixie. Every chance I get, it is spent outdoors. On rainy days, you will find me on the couch with my nose in a book or working on a watercolor in a quiet corner of my cottage. Throughout the years, music has played a significant role in my life as it brings me so much peace and comfort. I also love traveling, cooking and gardening. I enjoy spending my weekends with my two grown up daughters going to art festivals, local coffee shops, checking a new restaurant, bookstores and movies.

Besides work, I stay involved in the community. I help educate cancer patients on how to decrease inflammation and strengthen their immune system by making lifestyle changes. I also volunteer at the Humane Society and raise funds for our furry friends through the sale of my watercolors. Besides a concerned citizen in animal welfare, I am also a strong advocate in child welfare and permanency planning.

Alongside my education and training in holistic medicine, I have applied my strengths in understanding the needs of clients, hard work, knowledge, creativity, sales and market research, problem solving, continuing education and self improvement to build a successful business. Over the years, I have sold and bought several personal properties. I still remember what it was like to be a first time homebuyer and the challenges that came with the process. In my 20’s I had very little knowledge about mortgage lending, homeownership and the whole buying/selling process which made the experience stressful and challenging. I have also experienced what it is like to be an out of state buyer back in 2021 after I sold my family home in Florida. It was such a challenging experience as the real estate market had drastically changed after COVID. It was more of a seller’s market than a buyer’s market. From that experience, I also gained a clear understanding of the  different state laws and regulations in the North Carolina Real Estate.
